South Cave Summer Tournament 2021!

The weekends of 3/4 July and 10/11 July saw four fantastic days of tournament football at the Bull field, South Cave. 

We played host to two transition events for teams moving from 5v5 to 7v7 and those moving from 7v7 to 9v9, we had a whole day dedicated to Girls Football as well as our ever-popular, two day Festival of Football Summer tournament.

It was great to see so many children enjoying themselves playing the game they love, with teams playing from under 6 up to under 16! We welcomed over the course of the four days over 230 teams with over 2,000 players and all adhering to the social distance guidance!
 

Hosting a tournament takes a huge effort from all involved, so we would like to thank...

• the small army of volunteers on hand throughout the four days and to prepare in advance

• the local community in South Cave for their patience as we faced the mammoth task of getting everyone parked so that so many children and families could enjoy their day

• the sponsors for their contributions toward our costs for the events

• the referees for keeping the games orderly and in the spirit of tournament football

• the parents for their fantastic vocal support regardless of the team playing

and of course...​

• to the players and coaches of all of the teams that participated, you represented your clubs and grassroots football impeccably
